The theme of e-Navigation Underway is Operational benefits through a practical approach with focus on test beds. The conference will be held on board the ferry M/S Crown of Scandinavia, sailing from Copenhagen to Oslo and back January 31 - February 2.
e-Navigation Underway gathers representatives from the most important e-Navigation related test beds from all over the world, thus assembling a unique composition of practical knowledge of e-Navigation.
The purpose of the conference is to utilize this combined knowledge to address these key questions relating to e-Navigation test beds:
Which e-Navigation ideas are actually being tested in practice, and are there any early lessons to be learned?
What is the best practice for e-Navigation test beds; test methodology?
Gaining benefits in coordinating test bed efforts for a harmonized approach?
How can test bed results best be utilized in the overall IMO e-Navigation process?
The development of a world-wide concept It is our strong beliefe that the outcome of the conference will strengthen the use of test beds and increase the usability of the results produced by these in order to support the IMO effort to develop a world-wide e-Navigation concept.
